Farhan Mohammad
I received a bachelor degree from Aligarh Muslim University (2001), master degree from Jamia Hamdard (2003) and Ph.D. from Pune University (2009). My Ph.D. research work, conducted under the supervision of Dr. Abhay Sharma at Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology, Delhi, was focussed on developing a model of epileptogenesis in Drosophila. As a postdoctoral fellow I investigated defense behaviors in fruit fly and working on how various pharmacological, genetic and environmental interventions influence defense behaviors in fruit flies. I am interested in finding ancient genes and neural circuitry governing defense behaviors in fruit fly.
